Different Perspective

I love this song and baring in mind the tone of the rest of her album, I took this song to be about a relationship breakdown and everything that goes along with that.

However, a friend recently told me that someone they knew used this song at their mother's funeral. Sadly their mother had passed away at a very young age and very, very suddenly. Having also lost my mum at a ridiculously young age (48) I can empathise with my friend's friend. I was driving along the road today listening to this song and I was virtually unable to see where I was going. The words really do fit the situation and I definitely have a different perspective about the meaning of this song now.

A better day

Today has been so much better than yesterday :) I wasn't so tired, wee man wasn't so tired and we didn't have any screaming matches at all today - big reliefs. In fact we were so much happier - see

I've been making cards too! Thought I'd make enough thank you cards but it turns out 50 wasn't enough!!! So had to quickly make another few, just like this

I'm starting to get my creative mojo back and have got a few ideas of things I want to make but one thing I have promised myself is that before I start any big crafty project I need to get this finished

I can't actually remember when I started this cross-stich but I do remember it was when we lived in a different house! (we've been here over 3 yrs!!!) This is what it's supposed to look like - not really got much to do to it have I! I must get this finished before I start anything else big. I must, I must, I must!

Too early

I've been up too long today already and it's only 8am!!!

Wee man woke up at 4am - that I'm happy with, he slept since 8pm last night so a good 8 hours. I've just been unable to get back to sleep since then and the little eating machine will be awake very, very soon wanting fed again.

Might manage a quick catnap at some point this morning :o (fat chance me thinks!!!)

Smiling

Today has been a smiley day in our house. Wee man is 2 months today and he's obviously very happy about it ...........

And my favourite bit of today, wee man sitting up, (by holding on to Mum's thumbs) and loving it!

The other thing I achieved today was making cream of mushroom soup - from scratch and it was lurvely. Even impressed myself - incredibly easy to make and really, really tasty.

All change!!

It's been a while since I had a change but yesterday I took the plunge and went from this .......... (not the greatest pic of me but then I don't take good photos for some reason)

to this .............

I've lost count of the number of times I've done this - grown my hair to a decent length and then just got it all chopped off! Normally shocks the hairdresser when I go in and say 'cut it all off'!!! But this time it's not just a whim, there is an actual reason for wanting short, easy, quick hair. Having an 8 week old doesn't really give you much time for faffing about with my hair, having a shower now takes the same length of time as it did just to shampoo my hair. Not to mention the time it took to dry and straighten it - now ... it's just about dry by the time I leave the bathroom. Hurrah!!!

Super!!

It's been one of those weeks! Super in lots of ways, super-wet (it's poured so much this week!) Super-fun - we went to see baby ducks at the nearby duck pond (in the pouring rain!!) Super-tiring - some days it just catches up with you before you realise it!

But best of all has been this ..........

Our little Superbaby - we've called wee man 'superbaby' since he was about 1 week old just because of the way he lies with one arm above his head, like he is flying just like superman, and then when we were shopping last week we came across this romper suit and just could not resist it. Perfect for our wee dude :)

I forgot

Just how sad this book is

and then last night I watched the film ............ oh jeez!!! I sobbed, and sobbed, and sobbed, and sobbed. Then when Pedro came home from entertaining the Alvabamahas, he asked me if the film was any good and I sobbed again!?!?

If you ever feel in the need of a good girly cry it is the perfect film!!

Dude!!

Courtesy of my friend Sue, our wee man is now officially a little rock dude! This babygro rocks big time!

Thanks Sue :)

Now we just need to get him a Ramones tshirt to go with his baby converse!!!

Er..........

I stand corrected. 'Bonkers' is not techno, it is in fact hip hop! (thanks Lynz :)) I must also admit that having listened to it a few times, it is growing on me!!!! It's still not the greatest song in the world but it could be worse, like Mariah Carey or something!?!?!

Look what I bought the other day ...........

OK, it might just look like toilet cleaner. And admittedly it IS toilet cleaner, but look closely, it's not just any ordinary toilet cleaner, it's PURPLE toilet cleaner!!!!! Yes, I am THAT sad that I bought toilet cleaner solely because it is purple (well and to clean the loo, but well you know what I mean!)

I almost bought purple dish clothes but common sense prevailed when I remembered that I had about 3 packets at home. (Might get them the next time though, if they're still there)

Bonkers .................

............. really, Bonkers! That is the name of the song which was the official UK No 1 single the week our wee man was born. Dizzee Rascal and Armand Van Helden ' Bonkers'

A flippin' techno song!!! Lordy, lordy, lordy!!!!!

The album charts are marginally better, but only marginally, No 1 album for week beginning 24 May, 2009 is Enemin 'Relapse', but at least the No 2 album is Green Day '21st Century Breakdown' which I have so at least that is something I can tell wee man in the future.

I was bad last night :o I went out for a meal with friends!!!! I didn't stay home and look after my baby, I left him in the very capable hands of his daddy. Shock horror! But I had a great time, laughed lots, especially at a very funny story involving a lot of poo!!! And it wasn't baby poo either

Thursday 2 July 2009

It's July!

Where does the time go? It seems like only yesterday, well maybe last week that I did a pregnancy test and now we've got a little bundle who is almost 6 weeks old!

It really is true that the older you get the quicker the months go by. At this rate it will be 2 minutes time that I will need to go back to work :( Boo hiss!! Let's not think about that, mind you I miss the people - not the work, although I do enjoy my job - I'm a bit sad like that!

I wonder how many people are jealous of me being off during the lovely weather we're having - even though it really is too hot for small babies (especially in this house - insulation central we have here!) Currently the bedroom is approximately 30 degrees!!!
