Woo Hoo!?!?!

I finished it! It took nearly 7 months but I did it :) I set myself the target of having it finished before 26th (when the Dude was 14 months) and I finished on Saturday night. I'm so happy with it. It's HUGE - 61.5' by 81.5' and took ages to quilt but I'm over the moon that I've finished it.

So ...... time to move onto the next quilt then eh! When I was sorting out things when we had the house on the market I came across some material for a log cabin quilt I'd had for a while, all cut out and ready to be sewn. Along with the Popular Patchwork magazine that the quilt pattern is in - August 2006. That's the date of the magazine, I had no idea I'd had the stuff so long!! Can't wait to get started on it. Or I might do the quilt that I'm doing in challenge with my sister.

We actually managed to get out and about today, no man flu or big teething issues troubling us today. We ended up at the Scottish Deer Centre, it was really good. We saw some lovely wolves, birds of prey and some fantastic deer.

The battery in my camera ran out just before the best bit of the day - we managed to feed some of the deer, little cutsie bambi look-a-likes! The dude was enthralled with them (and so were we!).

Taming the beast

The monster is being tamed!!! It's gone from this ...

To this .....

To this ....

It doesn't look like much, but it's the back, it's all quilted and all I've got to do is the binding. I can't believe I've finished quilting this mammoth beast. I completely underestimated how long it would take to quilt. I used 900 metres of quilting thread!!!

The dude has discovered a new talent ..... WALKING!! It's still early days and he only really does it when it suits but his legs are getting stronger and his confidence is growing. No doubt in a few weeks I'll be begging him to stick to crawling!

Itchyness!!

Well we're not moving house at the moment - that much has been established a wee while ago. But I'm still getting that itchy, desperate for a change feeling. So my plan of attack is for the kitchen. It feels boring and dowdy at the moment so I want to give it some oomph! It's going to involve a new colour scheme (white and yellow I'm thinking), some new pieces of furniture and a few other wee bits and pieces. I've not taken any photos of the kitchen yet but I will so that we have 'before' and 'after' shots. One of the new additions is definitely going to be some 'foodie' shots similar to these, quite arty eh!!!

Then I might move onto the livingroom but that's a bit of way off yet.

This n' that

Where does the time go these days?!?!? Bad blogger!

I've spent some time today tidying up my laptop and reorganising my photos and came across pics of the dude from when he was teeny, tiny, little. It's so strange looking back at picturs of him from then.

This is him at 2 days old, with a canula in his right hand for the antibiotics he was given for a possible infection.

This is him last week ....

having lunch and being a little bit cranky.

We've been out and about lately, went to Aberdour and sat on the beach with a little picnic. I'll have to post some more pictures tomorrow - blogger seems to have stopped letting me upload just now!
