Out with the old .........................

It's very nearly the end of 2007 - how quick as this year gone?????? It will soon be 2008 and everything will start all over again. Spending a quiet night in, P working so it's just me and the cat. Settling down to watch Bones and eat chocolates - what better way to bring in the new year.

I've still got the cold but it's better than it was so I'll survive! Cooking New Year dinner tomorrow of 8 of us so that will be fun!?!?!

Planning to make a wee calendar using my new bind it all and some tabbed index cards. Had planned to get it done today but been busy tidy, cleaning, blah, blah, blah. People not coming here until about 2ish tomorrow so I might get a chance to get it done early in the morning. Don't have a calendar so really need to make one!

Here are the two christmas presents I made with my new bia!

Bleuuuuuuuuuuuuuurgh!!!!!!!!!

Christmas has now gone and it passed in lots of coughs, sniffles and feeling like I'd been hit by a ten ton truck. Feeling slightly better today and I've been outside, managed to venture to the shops briefly.

Got some fab christmas pressies, a fab bind-it-all, some funky new beads, Calvin Klein perfume, a mini tripod for my camera and loads of other stuff. And I've still got some more to get.

Next big task (other than the dreaded houseworks!) is cookng for 8 on New Years Day. Need to get the food shopping done and need to borrow a pie dish, imagine telling everyone your cooking steak pie and then realising you don't have a pie dish!?!?!?!?

Oh well, need to go and veg out in front of the telly!

3 more sleeps!!!

I can't believe it's christmas so soon. I'm still not sure if I'm organised or not!?!?! But I've had two nights out, out of three so one to go and then I can lay about all day tomorrow, yippee!!! Well say lay about, I've still to make two christmas presents. I've still to wrap two presents to give them to their receipents today.

Had an excellent night out on Thursday, Wildhearts at the Carling Academy. They were superb, wasn't sure how it would be in a bigger venue than the Garage, but they were on top form as usual. AND they played 'Destroy all Monsters' so I was a happy, happy bunny :)

Well going bead shopping today, so need to go and look out my birthday voucher so I can treat myself.

Sunday 16 December 2007

Feeling festive :)

The christmas decorations are finally up, the cards are all made (although I forgot to take pictures before I wrote them and sealed the envelopes - doh!) and all my presents are just about bought - yay!!! Only got a few little things to get.

Had my first night out on Friday and it was a really good laugh. Had our team lunch at Osta's in Stirling and then stayed out the rest of the day. Came back into Alloa about 8pm ish and met up with some more people from work, eventually got home at 1am after Pete came to met me in the pub!!! Was very tired yesterday. lol

Still got a couple of christmas presents to make mind you, so I need to get cracking on those.

Hoping that it will be a fairly quiet week work wise cos I've got 3 nights out at the end of the week :) Thursday is the Wildhearts at Academy - I'm soooooo excited. Friday is Town Hall so I'll be out from 5.30pm and Saturday is our couples night out which will be a scream. Next Sunday will be for sleeping only!

Look at what I've found - this must have been taken about 15 years ago - scary! But festive :)

Monday 10 December 2007

Times flies ......................

It's been 3 weeks since I last posted ................. I'm sure there is a time fairy stealing all the hours of the day!!!!!

I've been making christmas cards and not much else these days, well no, not strictly true, 2 sets of ATCs, a CJ entry. And I've got another CJ entry to get done and posted off by Saturday (must remember to do this!?!?!)

Look at what I bought today .........................

I love these, they are SO hideously gorgeous :) Definitely a case of love them or loathe them but I don't care if no-one likes them, I LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!

Monday 19 November 2007

I'm back

Blogging two days in a row!!!!!!!!

What a minging day it's been today :( Cold, wet, windy, brrrr! But nothing put me in a bad mood today because ............................................... Last night was AMAZING!?!?!?! Can't believe it's been 4 years since I last saw Skid Row and they didn't disappoint. Had a sore throat all day from all the singing I was doing, well I call it singing, more like screeching, but who cares I had a great night. Been exhausted all day today but it was worth it. First saw them when they supported Motley Crue which was back in 1989 or 1990, god I feel old now!!!!

Sunday 18 November 2007

Where does the time go?

What have I been doing this month?

Well I've had a birthday, so I'm now another year older! I had a godd birthday, I got some lovely pressies including tons of beads so my bracelet is now full and I'm starting on collecting more so that I can have a colour co-ordinated bracelet. But here is what it looks like just now ................

I've also got a new ipod nano, Pete needed a new one for the duo so he got my one and I've got the brand new one!!! It's really cool, I can even watch videos, so of course I had to download a couple of Motley Crue ones to watch.

Really should be doing lots of 'work' work this weekend but I can't be bothered! We're going to see Skid Row tonight, I'm getting really excited. It's been a couple of years since we last saw them, in the Glasgow Garage again. Should be a great night. I get to see Rachel again, yippee!!!!!

Come to the conclusion I've got a thing for american bass players with dark hair and girls names! What can I say these two are gorgeous .....................

Ok, I really need to get on with stuff so I'm signing off for now.

Friday 26 October 2007

Where did October go????

Who stole October! It's almost the end of the month. Which is good and bad. Good because it means my birthday is nearer but BAD because it means the year is nearly over and our holiday, feels like just a distant memory!

Speaking of holiday I finally ordered some of the pictures, only 500 of them!!!! Only scrapped one of them so far. There are too many to pick from, it hurts my head to try and decide where to start.

I've had a busy week, spent two days on a training course so I'm totally confused about which day of the week it is?!?!? Monday seems like such a long time ago.

I must confess I have a new addiction, well border line obession! (well not really new just refreshed!) Mr Nikki Sixx!!! He's just simply amazing! How gorgeous is this photo

Having read his new book "The Herion Diaries" on holiday, which shows a realistic side of addiction and depression, you see a "celebrity" in a new light. It's quite a bold step for someone in the public eye to be so open about what they had done with regards to drugs and alcohol. But it also highlights that he is able to come through it and he's trying to put that to positive use by supporting a charity in LA for young, homeless kids.

Plus he's not to rough on the eyes either LOL

I've not done that much scrapping lately, did do some of the UKS cyber crop. Made a really nice birthday book and my very first card. Even did some stitching of paper using my sewing machine. Kinda given me inspiration to make my own christmas cards this year. So if I can find the time I'll probably give that a go!

Going to Crafts for Scotland at the SECC on Sunday so I might try and get some fab christmas papers there and see what I can come up with.

Sunday 30 September 2007

Where did the weekend go?????

Can't believe it's Sunday night! What have I done this weekend? This week in fact. Feels like I've slept (or been in a daze anyway) Spent yesterday helping my sister at her stall at the Scottish Quilt Championships, it was really good. Lots of fantastic quilts on display, the hard work and talent is so inspiring. Always think I'll give it a go but for some reason I can't seem to get into quilting. Hey ho!

Took ages to get back over the forth road bridge but at least we had a shortcut to it only took about 30 mins to get onto the bridge - some other people looked like they were going to waiting at least an hour!!!! Bloomin' road works :(

Anyway had to pop into see my dad on the way home to get my final instructions before he went on holiday, so eventually got home at 7.15pm - 12 hours after I left it!!! Decided to go out for dinner but when we got to the pub they had no tables left and the kitchen was closing at 8pm so ended up with a fish supper - not good for the diet but tasty all the same. Even left some for Jack!

Had intended to spend today doing loads of scrapping but didn't get out of bed until lunchtime, went food shopping, did housework, had Sunday lunch, Pete went to Tilly for his gig (first time for this duo so was a bit nervous!),watched some telly we recorded when on holiday, ordered both our road taxes online (need them for tomorrow - opps!!!!) and now it's 11pm. Did take some pics for doing my LO in a CJ but need to print them tomorrow. Thank goodness tomorrow is a public holiday and I've got the day off - will definitely do scrapping tomorrow. Got so much I need to catch up on.

Thursday 27 September 2007

It's been a hard days night!!!!

I've never had jet lag before but boy have a suffered this week. Got back from Florida last Saturday morning and stayed awake the whole of Saturday. Slept for 13 hours on Sunday and I thought that would be enough to get back to normal! WRONG!!!!! Still not quite back to a normal awake/sleep pattern. Never mind the holiday was more than worth it.

I've taken hundreds and hundreds of photos of the two weeks - 1190 to be exact LOL Trying to upload them to order copies and it's taking ages.

Looking forward to getting them back and scrapping lots and lots of LOs, get to use my new stash too :)

Sunday 2 September 2007

Having a Sunday!!!

Yep, I'm having a Sunday. Been up since just after 7am this morning, which is unheard of for me!!!!!

Only 5 more sleeps til we leave for Florida, yay! Got a friend from work house-sitting while we're away so I've been cleaning like mad today lol!

Now the house is lovely and tidy, the cases are about 75% packed, the rest can't be done until later this week as it's stuff we use every day. So all I need to do now is load more stuff onto my ipod, clear the memory from my camera and watch disney dvd's :)

So I'm off to chill out and look forward to getting on a plane in 5 days.

Thursday 23 August 2007

Almost 2 weeks to go!!!!!!

Cannot believe that we fly out to Orlando 2 weeks tomorrow! It only seems like the other week we book it and now we're getting ready to leave. Suitcases are down from the loft, holiday clothes are in suitcase! Spending money is almost all transferred into dollars, passports and documents are ready and waiting.

Just need to be patient now!!!!!

New beads for my bracelet came today. Need to get new photos dones and post them online. Having a mini crop tonight at a friends's so need to look out some photos. Got a CJ entry to get done and posted at the weekend.

Friday 17 August 2007

3 weeks to go and a whole mixture of emotions

Yay, 3 weeks from now I'll be somewhere of the Altantic! I can't wait, this holiday has been sooooooooo long coming. We have never taken a fortnight's holiday before, the longest we've been away in the past is a week. This holiday so is long overdue, as DH says it's our honeymoon - 7 years late lol!!!! We did talk about going to Orlando for our honeymoon but we couldn't afford it at the time. Our anniversary is in the middle of our 2 weeks so it will kind of seem like a honeymoon!

Today is not a happy day for me, its 12 years since mum died. I cannot believe it been so long but then on the other hand it seems like on 2 days ago. We are going to the cemetary later on this afternoon to lay flowers as is now the tradition.

I've done hardly any scrapping lately, work has been hetic, I held our Landlords Forum last night so was working from 8.30am-9.00pm. A long, long day but I've got today off. So it's been relaxed.

My team on UKS held our first weekly challenge at the beginning of August and WOW it seems really popular. There is an unbelievable level of talent out there. My own efforts seem very basic compared to some people. Mind you I have only been scrapping since March, so only 6 months.

Just thought I'd post this picture, Jack being fed up while Pete plays on his xbox - it cracks me up, I think it so, so funny!

Saturday 28 July 2007

It's been a busy, busy week

I've had two nights out this week, only worked 3 days cos I had Monday and Friday off. Work is mad, sooooo many things going on. Been to see the new Harry Potter film today. Quite good but there was a lot of the story missing I though. Bought the new book last weekend and I'm still only at page 20! Haven't had time to read this week, it's been crazy.

Just under 6 weeks till we go to Orlando, yippee!!!!!! Can't wait, I'm on a strict budget til then and I hate it! No stash buying, no bead buying, just watching every penny :( Will be worth it though, I'm so looking forward to going away.

Monday 23 July 2007

Me a technophobe!!!!

Yeah! Teaching myself stuff all the time here. Got my ugly mugshot up AND managed to upload pics of my exploding box. Turns out there not the greatest photos but I'll redo them - at least I've figured out how to put them on!!!!!!

Happy, happy!!

Saturday 21 July 2007

I'm on holiday..........

well for a long weekend anyway! Made an exploding box yesterday and I love it. Started off planning to make a birthday card but fancied trying the box. So .... the gift I've got for my friend is a necklace and earrings ..... a box would be perfect. So a few hours later (much later - inked all the edges and took ages!!!) I've made a box that is a birthday card and a box at the same time! Really pleased with myself.

Already planning my next one - got another friend's birthday the week after so I'm going to make another one for her.

Need to figure out how to upload piccies and I'll show off my box! lol!!!!!

Wednesday 11 July 2007

It's Summer!!!!!!

It's been sunny since Saturday! I still can't believe it. Shouldn't say too much, might tempt fate!

Had a hetic few days, started with having to go to the bank on Saturday morning so just had to take a detour into Flawless Designs in Stirling for some stash. Got some lovely green papers for doing the Circle Journal I'm in. Still not quite decided on my LO yet but as it's a GREEN theme, I thought I'd get some lovely green papers! Might try to do some tonight.

Saturday night we went round to a friends' house to watch their home videos from Florida. It was such a laugh, seeing them from 15 years ago. Really looking forward to going now. Only 8 weeks to go. Still got a lot of things to organise before we go. Had a wee panic at the weekend, had been on The Dibb website, which is a Disney info forum. Reading some of the posts, some weren't very encouraging about Fly Globespan. Guess who we're going with! So decided to check our booking and discovered our leaving date had been changed from 6 Sept to 7 Sept! Nobody had informed us, not a phone call or email - nothing. So Sunday Pete phoned them and they apologised and said they would look into it for us.

Fortunately they phoned today, holiday has now been pushed back by a whole day so that we fly out on 7 Sept not 6th and we come back on the 21st. At least we are getting the whole 14 days.

Now just need to start planning what we're going to do when we get there!

Friday 6 July 2007

Thank Crunchie it's Friday!!!!!!!!

This week feels like it's gone on FOREVER!!! But it's now Friday night and I've got nothing planned for tonight, other than a big plate of nachos later, mm-mm-mmmmmm.

I received the next Journal from the Circle Journal team I've joined in UKS. The theme is GREEN. Not quite sure how I'm going to interpret it yet but I've got time to think. Need to post mine on tomorrow. Should have done it last week but the girl I'm sending to has been on holiday. So tomorrow it leaves my possession until March, 2008 - that's scary!

Starting to get really excited - 9 weeks yesterday till we go to Orlando. Yippee!!!!! It's our first time and I cannot wait. I'm just a big kid at heart - Disney here we come - yay!

Tuesday 3 July 2007

A little bit about me

Well this is it started - so I work full time with a local council in the Strategy section of the Housing Department. I really enjoy my job, I deal with Private Sector housing issues - not everyone's idea of a great job but I like it. I've worked with the council since I left school and have worked my way up from clerical assistant to a Coordinator so I'm really pleased with that.

Over the years I've been into cross stitching, dabbled a teeny bit into quilting after my sister opened a quilting shop. Heard about scrapbooking through a friend who started doing it years ago. Bought a qvc kit about 18 months ago but only actually plucked up the courage to do something with it in March this year. Haven't looked back since! I am a member of UKScrappers forum website and am addicted to that. Chat on there at least once a day and have made loads of new friends through it. Also found a second hobby - collecting trollbeads. This is a new type of charm bracelet with funky beads and is highly addictive.

Spent today completing my first ever Circle Journal - once I get organised I'll load some pics up. A CJ is basically a round-robin - you create a journal, pick a theme and pass around a group of people. Everyone completes a layout based on your theme. You get the journal back once its been around and is complete. Will be really good to see other peoples work up close, I'm really looking forward to sharing my work this way.

What am I doing??????

Well I've taken the plunge and joined the masses! I've got a blog. Technophobe no more!!!!!!! Basically this will be my rambling thoughts and I'll talk lots about my fantastic new hobbies - scrapbooking and collecting trollbeads!
